Ross Kernohan

Senior Pastor

About Senior Pastor Ross Kernohan

I am married to Fanny, and we have three children, two sons and a daughter.  I have been a Pastor for 8 years, but before training for ministry, Fanny and I served with Medair, a Christian Humanitarian aid organisation based in Lausanne. Our roles required us to travel, and we loved the opportunities it provided to experience how other cultures and nationalities do church.

Before we came to Crossroads International Church of Basel, we had the privilege to serve in Kampala and Northern Ireland. Fanny and I feel privileged to be called to serve in this way and it’s a calling that we don’t take for granted. We love the church and it’s important to us that everyone finds their place within the body of Christ where they not only feel loved but feel free to serve with the gifts and abilities God has blessed them.

Anna Boyd

Worship Pastor

About Anna Boyd

I’m married to Don, and we have five children: three sons and two daughters. I grew up, mostly in Belgium and Israel, as a TCK (Third Culture Kid) to pastor/missionary parents. I’ve served internationally in various areas of Christian ministry for 25 years, mainly in Central Europe since 2009.

I’m passionate about people being brought close to the Father’s heart through music intertwined with prayer and proclamation, and I love to see people healed, restored and strengthened through God’s goodness.

Throughout my life I’ve been mentored by prayer and worship leaders, and I now find it fulfilling and natural to pour into others. My multi-lingual, multi-cultural journey has given me a sensitivity and appreciation for the beautifully diverse family that we are at Crossroads, and I feel honored to be a part of what God is doing here in Basel.

Mohana Edward

Children's Pastor

About Mohana Edward

I’m married to Sam, and we have two daughters. I gave my life to the Lord when I was 14 years old, and started serving with the Children’s Ministry exactly six months later. We have moved to various cities over the years because of our work, but in every city we moved to, God immediately called me to the Children’s Ministry in the local church.

Serving our children is a privilege that I do not take lightly. I genuinely believe there is no greater privilege than giving back to God, and it gives me great joy to use my talents to serve in God’s kingdom.
I’m passionate about helping kids and families discover the love of Jesus and grow in their faith. I believe that children are an important part of our church family and that they have a unique role to play in God’s story.

In my role, I work to create a safe and fun environment where kids can learn about God’s love and develop a strong foundation for their faith. I’m dedicated to partnering with parents and volunteers to provide engaging and relevant programs for kids from 3 to 11 years old. I’m excited to get to know you and your family better and to watch your kids grow in their faith!

Senior Leadership Change

After 14 years of ministry to Crossroads Basel, Senior Pastor David Fortune returned to Canada in June 2024. Our long-time Associate Pastor, Nico Hoogenraad, led Crossroads as Interim Senior Pastor until he unfortunately and unexpectedly needed to leave in December 2024 for reasons related to the health of his family. After a rigorous search process, we welcomed our new Senior Pastor Ross Kernohan to Crossroads in June 2025.

Crossroads International Church of Basel is advanced in a search for a new Senior Pastor following David Fortune’s return to Canada last June. In the meantime, our long-time Associate Pastor, Nico Hoogenraad, was leading Crossroads as Interim Senior Pastor until he unfortunately and unexpectedly needed to leave in December for reasons related to the health of his family.

During this leadership change, Crossroads is governed by the long established Board of Elders and supported by its staff. Crossroads continues to be the vibrant, English-speaking, multinational and multi-denominational congregation it has been these past 20 years. Crossroads’ various ministries and programmes also continue unchanged to serve our large number of young families, children and youth.

Crossroads has a comprehensive policy to facilitate leadership change and the Board of Elders keeps the congregation up to date with where they are in the search process using this website and by making verbal announcements on Sunday mornings.

If you have any questions you can contact the Elders directly, or speak to one of the staff. It is normal to experience a range of emotions during any leadership transition, but if you have questions or would like reassurance, please reach out.

As announced on Friday 9 February 2024 by email and in-service on Sunday 11 February 2024, David and Rhonda will be returning to Canada in the summer. You can read Pastor David’s letter to the congregation here.

Crossroads has a comprehensive policy to facilitate leadership change which includes commissioning a Search Committee. The Board of Elders will keep the congregation up to date with what is happening, but if you have any questions you can contact the Elders directly, or speak to one of the pastors. It is normal to experience a range of emotions when a Pastor leaves, including worry or sorrow, but if you have questions or would like reassurance, please reach out.
